Narciso Desk — I Rovereschi / Della Rovere
Design & Concept
Narciso is a bold, presidential-style executive desk that combines classical elegance with expressive form. It achieves a striking visual identity through its contrast of sharp, straight lines and curved elements — in particular, a semicircular “curved leg” that supports part of the top. The design evokes luxury craftsmanship and is inspired by interiors of fine yachts and high-end furnishings.
Materials & Finishes
The desk’s structure uses poplar particleboard panels, overlaid with real wood veneer in finishes such as Smoked Walnut (Noce Fumé) or Chocolate Oak (Rovere Cioccolato).
Some surfaces are coated in matte / semi-closed pore opaque finish, balancing texture and richness.
Leather or eco-leather padded inserts are used in selected panels (front panels / modesty panels / working surfaces) to give tactile contrast and a sense of softness against the solid wood.
Detailing includes brass-coloured steel accents: rings, joints, structural metal elements, and possibly supports—these metallic touches add elegance, highlight junctions, and reinforce the idea of fine manufacture.
Form & Key Features
Curved leg: one side of the desk is supported by a heavy curved wooden leg (veneer-finished), giving the desk sculptural balance and visual drama.
Top thickness & construction: the top is quite robust (≈ 58 mm thick in some models), with layered wood veneers/planks and sometimes integrated with eco-leather sections. There is a sliding central panel (object/holder tray) in some variants.
External side extension / return: many configurations include an L-shaped or extended side work surface (return) that offers additional workspace, side extension for documents, tools, or secondary seating/meetings.
Modesty panel: panel underneath the desk can be both functional (supporting structure) and decorative (leather, veneer, metal moldings) depending on configuration.
Cable management options: Some versions allow for removable panels or cut-outs for cables, though the curved leg and solid elements constrain wiring slightly more than with fully open-leg designs.
Dimensions & Variants
Width / Length options vary: e.g. 270 × 220 cm, 290 × 220 cm, 310 × 220 cm depending on version with side extension / return.
Height in some models is higher than standard desks (~ 88.8 cm) for a more imposing presence in executive suites.
Multiple finishes available (wood tones, veneer choices), and optional features (leather inserts, sliding panels, different modesty panels) allow customization.
