Euclideo Desk — 4 Mariani (Ferruccio Laviani)
Design & Concept
Euclideo is an executive desk conceived not just as furniture but as a sculptural object. It embodies the evolution of the executive system toward a more contemporary typology — less bound by traditional visual cues of desks, more by form, balance, and presence.
Its visual drama comes from the interplay of two volumes: a suspended work surface which appears almost to float, balanced against a “container” (sideboard / cabinet) volume. These faceted solids interpenetrate, defining functional zones and aesthetic tension between solid and void.
Materials & Finishes
Finish options include exotic woods and more traditional wood essences; clients may choose from a wide palette of veneer types.
Leather (or saddle-leather) coverings are available for parts of the desk, depending on finish chosen.
Lacquered MDF and RAL colour options are also offered for certain surfaces, giving possibility of customised colour accents.
Form, Structure & Key Features
The top is suspended and rests in a way that gives it a light, floating appearance. The contrast is in the solidity of the container unit which acts as storage and structural counterbalance.
The sideboard extension (left or right) includes internal storage: drawers, doors, plus an open shelving side. The storage component is designed with “push- & pull” opening systems (no visible handles) for a clean finish.
The structural support under the top (frame) uses steel, often painted or lacquered, which provides strength while keeping visual lightness.
Dimensions & Variants
In one listing: approx 110.25 × 90.50 × 28.75 in (Width × Depth × Height). (Which is about 280 × 230 × 73 cm).
The desk is available with the return cabinet on either the left or right side depending on layout needs.
Aesthetic & Experience
The design gives a strong impression of balance and tension: the floating top seems almost to defy gravity, offset by the heavy, grounded container. This contrast gives Euclideo a commanding yet elegant character.
It’s intended for high-end executive offices or spaces where prestige, design identity, and material quality are important. Such a piece functions as both working desk and visual centrepiece.
Positioning & Use Cases
Suitable for CEO / executive suites, luxury private offices, or environments where design and material richness are part of corporate identity.
Also a good fit in showrooms, design studios, or interior projects that emphasise material contrasts, craftsmanship, and furniture as art.
Because of its size, material finishes, and bespoke options, careful planning is needed: layout space, circulation, lighting, complementing furniture.
