Bellagio Desk — I Rovereschi / Della Rovere
Design & Concept
“Bellagio” carries an evocative name: inspired by the harmony of lake-landscapes (lago panorama), the collection was conceived by architect Stefania Tognoloni.
The desk is meant not just as a functional piece, but as a visual statement — combining stratified layers, subtle material contrasts, and floating-top effects that impart elegance, presence, and luxury without being ostentatious.
Materials & Finishes
The main structural boards are made from poplar particleboard panels. These are veneered with real wood veneer (e.g. Smoked Walnut “Noce Fumé” or Chocolate Oak “Rovere Cioccolato”) in matte finish with semi-closed pore texture.Secondary surfaces / modesty panels, or optional accent zones, are available in ecopelle (faux leather) in colours such as ivory or dark brown (“testa di moro”). A standout element is a rectangular steel ring painted in a brass (or “bronze-yellow”) hue, placed between the desk’s top surface and its legs. This serves both as a structural accent and a visual separator (giving the top a seeming levitation over supporting planes). Modesty panel (“gonna” / front panel) is available in multiple heights and finishes: shorter panels (≈ 34 cm high) or full-height to the floor (≈ 56.5 cm), in wood veneer, glossy or matt surfaces, or upholstered panels.
Form & Key Features
The worktop is thick and layered: a heavy primary board of approx. 58 mm thickness in veneered particleboard, with a top cap in real wood veneer of ~19 mm. Edges are finished to highlight the wood veneer contrast. Optionally, a sliding center panel (“central panel”) beneath the top may be added to provide access to a hidden tray / compartment for desk accessories. Cable management is considered: there are versions of the desk with removable central panel in the leg area to allow cable pass-through; also, one can specify versions “with / without cable holes” in the legs. The “floating top” effect is achieved by offsetting the thickness of the top and the modesty panel / support planes, combined with the steel ring detail. This gives a sense of lightness and architectural drama.
Dimensions & Options
Heights are generally ~ 76.3 cm for the desk surface.
Available main desk widths / depths: typical sizes include
• 200 × 100 cm
• 220 × 100 cm
• 240 × 100 cm
There are also “return” (side extension) versions: e.g. side return depth ~ 59 cm, making overall L-shape combinations. Options in the UAE listing show sizes like 249.4 × 200.2 cm, 269.4 × 200.2 cm, 289.4 × 200.2 cm depending on main top + return. Multiple modesty panel types (height, style, material) are optional. Board / top finishes are customizable: choose between wood veneer alone, or wood veneer plus ecopelle inserts.
Visual & Aesthetic Expression
The Bellagio desk conveys prestige via its layered construction and generous massing, yet retains elegance through contrasting materials (wood + ecopelle) and refined detailing (the brass ring, edge detailing).
The aesthetic leans toward contemporary executive / luxury interiors: wood tones that are warm but deep (smoked walnut, chocolate oak), with optional lighter or darker upholstery for contrast. The combination of materials is well-balanced: the wood gives richness, the ecopelle gives softness & tactility, the metal ring gives precision and a touch of lightness.
Positioning & Experience
Bellagio is designed for executive / presidential use: for senior leadership offices, boardrooms, or high-end private workspaces. It’s for situations where the desk itself helps form impressions — often visible to clients or visitors. It performs well both as a working tool (ample surface, cable management, optional storage features) and as a signature furnishing piece.
